Community to Hospital Shuttle Service

An on-demand shuttle taking patients to outpatient appointments across Waitematā and Auckland. If getting to hospital is a problem, this service exists for you.

How it works

Transport to your outpatient appointment

The shuttle runs on demand — there is no fixed timetable, so every trip is booked around your appointment.

Book three days ahead

Bookings are essential and must be made at least three working days before your appointment.

Running hours

The shuttle operates between 9.30am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Standard fare

A standard fare applies per trip. Confirm the current fare when you book.

Eligibility

Who can use the shuttle

You can use it if

  • You live in West Auckland and have an outpatient appointment at North Shore Hospital, Auckland City Hospital or Greenlane Clinical Centre.
  • You live on the North Shore and have an appointment at Waitakere Hospital, Auckland City Hospital or Greenlane Clinical Centre. Pick-up and drop-off is from North Shore Hospital only.
  • You are a carer or support person travelling with a patient. A standard fare applies.
  • You need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle — tell the shuttle service when you book.

Good to know

  • The shuttle is not available for trips to a GP or a private specialist.
  • People visiting patients may use the service, but only if a seat is available.
  • Patients of all ages can use the service.
