NGO Health Network

Waitakere Health Link host an NGO Health Network on behalf of HealthWEST PHO.

The NGO Health Network is a key opportunity for HealthWEST PHO to work in collaboration with NGOs in order to respond effectively to the needs of the Waitakere community.

Waitakere Health Link hosts four meetings a year on behalf of HealthWEST PHO for organisations that are currently engaged in health related work to improve community health in Waitakere City.

Definitions

Non Government Organisation (NGO)

A Non Government Organisation is created by natural or legal persons with no participation or representation of any government. In the cases in which NGOs are funded totally or partially by governments, the NGO maintains its non-governmental status therefore it excludes government representatives from membership in the organization.

An example of an health related NGO is the Heart Foundation, Cancer Society, Diabetes, Parkinsons etc.
