Waitakere Health Link is a community driven organisation committed to improving health in Waitakere City by promoting community participation in healthcare decision making and fostering collaborative relationships between healthcare providers and the Waitakere community.
Why is Waitakere Health Link important?

We are interested in all community health issues and have established a great network of individuals and organisations with an interest in health. We are a vehicle for the community voice and believe that better communication between healthcare providers and the community is the way to achieve healthier communities. No other group fulfils this role.

We work to ensure that the community has opportunities to participate in health service planning and delivery.
Who is on the Executive Board?

Our executive committee is comprised of eight elected community representatives plus five entitled healthcare providers representing: HealthWEST PHO, Pasifika Healthcare, Waiora Healthcare Trust, Wai Health, Waitakere City Council and Waitemata District Health Board. The board meets on the third Friday of every month.
How does Waitakere Health Link achieve it's objectives?

- By regularly reviewing the Waitakere Health Plan to ensure that the values and behaviours expressed in the plan are maintained.
- By supporting collaborative initiatives between healthcare providers in Waitakere City.
- By becoming involved in community health issues that arise in the Waitakere community and working with appropriate groups and organisations to address these.
- By providing opportunities for the community voice to be expressed.
- By promoting better communication and understanding between the Waitakere community and the Health and Disability sector.
Who can belong to Waitakere Health Link?

Waitakere Health Link is an incorporated society. Anyone who lives or works in Waitakere City can become an individual member with an annual subscription of only $5.
